Apple May Need to Issue the iOS 5.0.2 for Battery Woes

Last week, we have reported that Apple brought the iOS 5.0.1 update to fix iPhone 4S battery drain. However it seems that the iOS 5.0.1 upgrade may not fix your battery woes.

After the update, some iPhone 4S users reflect that that their iPhone battery life is worse than it was before. Some users say their battery life was fine until the upgrade. Others say it is far worse, and a few are seeing some improvement. Since one of the main features of the update was to fix battery life bugs, it’s hard to call this update anything but a failure.

Apple may reportedly release another iOS 5 update as early as next week to fix the battery issue for good and further improvements to its Siri voice-controlled assistant app are also in the works.

According to German site, MackerKopf.de, an iOS 5.0.2 update is already on its way, while work is also underway for the first major iOS 5 upgrade, which should come as version 5.1 on the market.

Macerkopf has not been a frequent source of rumors regarding Apple’s plans, and thus the report should be taken with some skepticism, but the claims do seem to line up with Apple’s priorities of addressing continuing battery issues and increasing the functionality of the flagship feature of the new iPhone 4S.
